CTL has completed several testing programs for the European Space Agency (ESA). This includes R&D projects on new materials and design validation testing.
Alongside our parent company ÉireComposites we have provided testing for innovative induction welded bonds for the space industry.
CTL have conducted lap shear tests on materials for the first external part and largest functioning piece of equipment ever to be manufactured in Ireland and launched into space. The stray light baffles produced by ÉireComposites for the European Space Agency’s ALTIUS mission will prevent out-of-field stray light from reaching the lenses of the satellite’s optical instruments.
